Now in its 37th edition, from 1 December 2024 to 12 January 2025, the magic of the Giant Marchetto Nativity Scene returns to Mosso, in the small, pretty village of Valdilana in the Biellese region.
There are now two hundred figures that will repopulate the most characteristic streets and corners of the town, from the old market square to Via Carbonera.
The visit is free and open to all, lasts about an hour, and evokes in a historical yet touching way the poor and humble life of past generations and, immersed in the special Christmas atmosphere, also reminds us of the simple yet profound faith of the past. It is in practice a large open-air ethnographic museum that reconstructs environments of popular memory, using the natural and urban settings of Mosso. Visitors, particularly at night, mingle with the characters and the nativity scene, as if by magic, goes from being a giant to a living one.
Events and guided tours of the many tourist attractions in the surrounding area, from the Brughiera Sanctuary to the Zegna Oasis, are planned.
Free admission, attractively illuminated at night.
Free parking in the square or turning left at the end of the large square.
