The Carmagnola National Pepper Pepper Fair - Italia’s largest exhibition dedicated to an agricultural product - returns to celebrate its 75th edition, a historic milestone that testifies to its success and transforms the town into the beating heart of the world of peppers and agri-food excellence: ten days of gastronomic events with typical dishes and experiments, cultural and artistic events, as well as shows and concerts.
Piazza Mazzini is transformed into the Piazza of Tastes with the Producers’ Market of the Pepper Consortium and a huge open-air restaurant; Piazza Bobba becomes the Italia Osteria; the Bobba and Pellico streets, the Garibaldi and Sacchirone main streets, Piazza Manzoni, the Castle Gardens and the Unità d’Italia Gardens host 200 stands for the exhibition and sale of peppers.
Sunday 1 is the Pepper Day, with the great parade of King Peperone and Bela Povronera together with over 250 masked characters from various regions.
There will also be show-cooking with great chefs, interviewed by food critic Edoardo Raspelli; and then a sweet novelty: for chocolate lovers, the Mainero company has come up with a pepper praline with a delicate yet bitter taste.
2024 Godmother is Matilde Brandi, accompanied by Sergio Mùñiz on the opening night.
