The 27th edition of the Moncalieri Jazz Festival takes place from 14 to 17 November, with a final evening dedicated to 100 years of the Radio.
It starts on Monday 11 at Il Porto with the ArDuoBop, or Dante Giovanni Arnoldi sax and Gianni Santoro guitar, an agile formation celebrating the protagonists of hardbop; and also at the Unitre with Dido’s Brazilian Jazz: Delfina Di Domenico voice, Massimo Rizzuti piano, Giorgio Ricchezza sax and percussion and Pippo Caccamese double bass.
On Thursday 14 we go to the Fonderie Limone for Cine & Jazz, a tribute to the centenaries of Marcello Mastroianni, Marlon Brando and Henry Mancini with the Magister Harmoniae Orchestra.
We arrive on Friday 15, again at the Fonderie Limone, for another tribute: ‘The sky is full of stars’, dedicated to Pino Daniele with Fabrizio Bosso trumpet and Julian Oliver Mazzariello piano.
Saturday 16, on the occasion of Marco Polo’s 700th anniversary, a double concert again at the Fonderie Limone: ‘Shades of China’ with the Furio Di Castri Quintet and ‘Horizon. The dream of Marco Polo’ with Albert Hera & Friends and the participation of The Singers Choir.
Then the grand finale on Sunday 17 to celebrate 100 years of the Radio at the Toscanini Auditorium in Torino: on stage the National Symphony Orchestra of the RAI, with special guest Tosca, Fabrizio Bosso on trumpet and a House Band Jazz. The event is in partnership with RAI Radio Techeté and includes full translation of the songs performed also in LIS sign language.
