RALLYE MONTE-CARLO HISTORIQUE

Piazza San Carlo - Torino
26-01-2023

After seven years, on 26 January 2023 in Piazza San Carlo the people of Torino will be able to relive a piece of motoring history that still retains the same fascination.

Torino, in fact - along with Bad Homburg, Oslo, London and Reims - is the starting point of one of the five routes of the 25th Rallye Monte-Carlo Historique with the Monegasque Principality as its destination. This is the historic version of the oldest road rally in the world, reserved for cars that have taken part in at least one Automobile Monte-Carlo Rally between 1911 (date of its creation) and 1983: motor enthusiasts will therefore have the opportunity to admire and touch, for example, the 1975 Lancia Stratos HF, an Alpine A110 and an Alfa Romeo 1900 from 1955.

From the platform of Piazza San Carlo - which will also host the gazebo for scrutineering - 132 cars will set off, while around 40 super cars will park in front of Caffè Torino and accompany the historic cars for the very first route in the central area; then the caravan will take the Torino-Pinerolo motorway link road (at Perosa Argentina there will be a passage control) and head towards the Monginevro Pass.

The Rallye is a competition on the FIA international calendar, with a total length of between 2152km and 3572km. Unlike the Monte Carlo WRC Rally, it takes place on open roads and throughout the duration of the competition the crews must strictly adhere to the traffic regulations of the countries they pass through. The penalties accumulated during the route (speeding, non-compliance with regulations, route errors, etc.) and will contribute to the final result.
